Karibua sat down beside her. "Xithoga, we're friends, you know that. What's been bothering you lately?" He inquired, a small, friendly smile on his face, something he rarely did unless he was truly happy. He and Diadae were officially an item now, and he couldn't feel any more blissful, despite the drought.
Xithoga looked at him through the corner of her eye, not turning her head to face him. She couldn't help the small bit of resentment that bubbled in her chest. She was happy that he was happy, and it's not like she didn't like Diadae, they were good friends, but... "Just friends..." She whispered, all of the pain and loss that she had experienced throughout her lifetime being summoned into that one breath. Karibua strained his ears forward to hear her. "What?" he asked, but the smile never left this face. Xithoga suddenly looked up at him with a wide smile, looking perhaps a bit too cheerful. "Ah, nothin'. Just thinkin' about my mother is all." --------- o3o Peheh. I'm so evil. Torturin' poor Xithy like this... Gonna add a similar scene to the fic someday. Yeah I guess they're famous fanfiction....wouldn't THAT be great, to have a famous fanfic....my closest one is "Sakura's lament" I think.
